I Am Ready

It's a funny time of year; as we enjoy days of heat and endless sunshine, we find ourselves entering the second half of the calendar, with more days behind us than ahead this year.  This past week, we also had the full Buck moon to celebrate, bringing with it energetic qualities around determination, progress, and purposeful growth.  It is the perfect time to reflect on how far we have come and to regroup, determining our path for the remainder of the year.

As I stood in the lake this morning, being gently rocked by the waves and sung to by the gulls, I received a clear message: "I am ready".  Those three words repeated themselves in my mind as I continued to sway in the water and contemplate their meaning.  Ready for what?  Without a doubt, that was the next thought that entered my head.  And just as I asked, a cascade of answers came forward:

            - ready to forgive
            - ready to accept
            - ready to embrace
            - ready to explore
            - ready to learn
            - ready to forget
            - ready to grow

The past five years have been filled with self-discovery and curiosity.  I have opened myself up to the unknown and have fought hard against the fears that would have me continue on worn and tired paths, retracing steps I have taken and know to not be the ones I am meant to travel. I have also been graced by moments of clarity and glimpses of truth that had been hidden away.  At times it has felt easy, and at other times it has been challenging, often making me question my decisions.  Deep down, a tiny voice kept pushing me forward, it kept encouraging me and reminding me that there was more to see and feel than I had allowed myself in the past.

And now here I am.  Standing at what feels like a new beginning, a next chapter, a new adventure, armed with the knowledge that I Am Ready for whatever might come as I take my next steps ahead.
