Hope Is The Conduit For Miracles
This is the journalling card that I selected this morning, and as I reflected upon it, I began to realize just how important cultivating hope is.
On many occasions I have been reminded that "Hope is not a game plan". Going into a situation hoping for the best was often equated to being ill-prepared or basically setting myself up for failure. While only holding onto hope as a way to achieve a goal may not produce the outcome that you are looking for, I do feel that we need to hold a space for hope in our lives.
When I think about hope and just what it really is, I am struck by how vulnerable being hopeful about something can make us feel. It is like we have laid our cards out on the table for all to see and now are giving voice to what we desire and allowing ourselves to be judged based upon our dreams. And yet, without hope, how can our dreams actually take flight?
I feel like hope is what gives our dreams room to grow. It gives them the wings to start to move and for us to be able to dream big and move with them. We need hope in order to allow ourselves to step outside of our comfort zone and to believe that we can do more, be more and be bigger than we are right now. It is this act of opening up and exposing our truest and most sacred desires that we allow the space for miracles in our lives to take place, for the movement to happen.
As I contemplate being hopeful and how this has shown up in my life, I have to admit that I often shush my hopes. I turn down the volume when it starts to get a bit loud, I hide my hope away in what feels like a safe place. Fear of judgement, fear of failure, fear of the unknown...all of these play into the reasons why. Seems like fear is a hot topic in my life these days. The other side of what I am feeling is the beginnings of bravery. Of being ready to let the volume start to increase. To start to believe in myself and what I can achieve enough to actually feel ready to breathe some life into it. And to know that life is about learning, and no matter what the outcome might be, lessons are there to be absorbed and all contribute towards the path ahead.
